Latonya Pottain, My 600-Lb. Life Star, Dead at 40 | E! News
My 600-lb Life star Latana Patan has died. The local coroner’s office confirms Latana, who appeared on season 11 of My 600B Life in February 2023, died at an inpatient medical rehabilitation facility in Louisiana May 17th. Authorities tell E-News in a statement she experienced a medical event and was transported to Christ Highland Hospital by emergency medical services where she was later pronounced deceased. While Latana’s preliminary cause of death is listed as chronic congestive heart failure, investigations are still ongoing. As for what happened in the hours before her death, Lata’s brother tells TMZ that while family members were visiting her Louisiana home that morning, they noticed she was having some trouble breathing and appeared to be extremely uncomfortable. Soon after, the family got a call from a nurse informing them that Latana had gone into cardiac arrest. Latana’s tragic death comes just 3 months after she created a GoFundMe to reach out for quote help during the most challenging time of my life. She wrote in February, “I’m currently getting close to my highest weight of 740 lb and I worked extremely hard to get it down. Now I currently weigh about 705 lb and have been bedridden since June 2024 due to severe health issues.” Latana was 40 years old. [Music] [Music]

Wow i figured it would happen like that . And the people who surrounded her helped her die . Addiction is hard I know I struggled with it for years . When it was playing with my health I let it go at all expenses… this is just sad she was a beautiful woman 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

IT'S BITTERSWEET AND I'M SORRY THAT THAT HAPPENED TO LATONYA BUT AT THE SAME TIME YOU GOT THE ONE TO DO IT AT ONE POINT I'VE BEEN OVER 300 LBS EXACTLY 324 LB AT MY HEAVIEST AND YES I WAS STRESSED OUT AND MADE EXCUSES AND ANYTHING BUT I GOT TO THE POINT OF BEING TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED AND I DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT NO I DIDN'T GET WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY BUT I STARTED MY WEIGHT-LOSS JOURNEY 5 YEARS AGO AND STILL WORK IN PROGRESS I'M LIKE IT EITHER 215lbs OR 213lbs THE LAST TIME I GOT WAITED ON BUT I PUT THE WORK IN AND I STOPPED MAKING EXCUSES YOU HAVE TO WANT TO DO IT AND DOCTOR NOW TOLD HER IF SHE DIDN'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND ALL THE STRAIN ON HER BODY SHE WASN'T GOING TO MAKE IT AND IT SAID SHE PUT ANOTHER 100 POUNDS OR SOMETHING ON AND THAT'S SAD BECAUSE THE LAST TIME SHE LEFT DR NOW SHE WAS LIKE 600 AND SOMETHING AND SHE GOT UP TO OVER 700 THAT'S CRAZY YOU HAVE TO WANT TO DO IT NOT THINKING SOMEBODY SUPPOSED TO DO IT FOR YOU I LIVED AND LEARNED THAT THE HARD WAY AND BOTH SIDES OF MY FAMILY HAVE DIABETES AND HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND I CAME SO FAR THAT I'M OFF SUGAR MEDICATION AND INSULIN I JUST ONLY TAKE BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE AND CHOLESTEROL MEDICINE
