Meghan Markle’s ‘diva behavior’ in the past has caused her issues, including a fall out with the editor of British Vogue.
Meghan, who formerly appeared in Netflix’s hit series Suits and has been married to Prince Harry since 2018, was reportedly set to appear on the cover of British Vogue’s September 2022 issue. However, the front cover Meghan might have been dreaming of never materialized.
At the time, Meghan, 43, was said to have been collaborating with editor Edward Enninful on a piece for Vogue, which was to include her speech at the One Young World Summit in Manchester and “involved extensive features across the magazine and its digital editions.”

The Duchess of Sussex, who has earned herself the nickname ‘Duchess Difficult’ by staff, reportedly made multiple stipulations to be included by the publication — many of which caused issues and a reported fall out.

Meghan and her team reportedly asked for six stipulations, according to a source speaking to page Six. The outlet reported: “Meghan asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue. Nobody gets that. Not even Beyoncé.”
Edward was set to feature supermodel Linda Evangelista on the cover, and had no plans to change his decision which upset Meghan. The Duchess even trued to go above his head and call in favors from Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who attended a zoom meeting with her but had chosen Serena Williams for her edition that month.
A source explained: “Anna wasn’t interested. Meghan asked for a Zoom with her to reconsider, and Anna did it to be polite.”
According to information obtained by the Daily Mail, Enninful was left “furious” after Meghan decided against participating when she wasn’t offered the British Vogue cover feature.
“The duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations,” shared one insider.

“He already had a magazine cover in the bag for that month. Edward was furious to have lost the project, as were the powers that be at Condé Nast.”
The source added: “The whole process became very difficult. Edward could only promise her a big showy feature inside the magazine and online — but she turned it down.”
Meghan and Ennis are said to no longer be in contact either, with Ennis leaving Vogue after six years as editor in 2023. However, other reports dispute this, and claim that a source who spoke to Page Six’ has insisted they still maintain a “warm and respectful” relationship.

The news has come as the Duchess of Sussex marked Memorial Day weekend with a charming behind-the-scenes look at her family’s quieter life, sharing a video of herself and daughter Lilibet dressed in full beekeeping suits while tending to a hive on their California estate.
She shared a sweet piece of footage to the website of the couple’s Archewell Foundation, which depicted Meghan and her 2-year-old daughter walking hand-in-hand toward a buzzing hive, both wearing white protective suits and gloves.
The video is part of a larger effort by Meghan and Prince Harry to highlight sustainability and the importance of pollinators, particularly bees, which face mounting environmental threats.
This also is not the first time the Sussexes have spotlighted their $29 million Montecito home’s natural surroundings. In previous interviews and foundation updates, they’ve showcased their vegetable and fruit garden, rose garden, chicken coop, and fruit orchards as part of their broader mission of leading a mindful, sustainable lifestyle.
