Prince Harry was reportedly left “so disappointed” when he introduced Meghan Markle to Princess Diana’s two sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.
The Duke of Sussex had hoped his mother’s siblings would see similarities between Diana and Meghan, but was disheartened by their reaction.
Despite Harry’s belief that Diana would have been “over the moon” about his relationship with Meghan, her sisters did not see the same character traits in the two women. Adding to Harry’s disappointment, both Lady McCorquodale and Lady Fellowes reportedly felt Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.
Nevertheless, Harry married Meghan in 2018 and they now have two children together.

These revelations are detailed in the book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, authored by Royal biographer Tom Bower. He wrote: “Harry assumed that Diana’s family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fianceĢe. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed.”
Bower continued: “No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend. More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family,” reports the Mirror.

Despite the flak, Prince Harry stood his ground and in 2022, he drew parallels between Meghan and his late mother Diana in his Netflix docuseries. As reported by the Express, Harry remarked: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.”
Last week, the estate where Diana is laid to rest was hit by an arson attack.
Earl Spencer, Diana’s younger sibling, took to social media to share the distressing news that a farmhouse at Althorp House had been set ablaze by vandals.
Althorp Estate has been the Spencer family’s home for half a millennium, famously known as Princess Diana’s childhood residence post her parents’ divorce before she wed the now-King Charles. Spanning 13,500 acres, the estate became Diana’s final resting place following her tragic death in 1997, opening its doors to visitors each summer season.
