Prince Harry was reportedly “so disappointed” when he introduced Meghan Markle to Princess Diana’s two sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.
The Duke of Sussex had allegedly hoped his mother’s siblings would see similarities between Diana and Meghan.
Despite Harry’s belief that Diana would have been “over the moon” about his relationship with Meghan, he was disheartened by her sisters’ reaction.

They allegedly did not see the same character traits in Meghan as they did in Diana. To add to Harry’s disappointment, both Lady McCorquodale and Lady Fellowes reportedly felt that Meghan “thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.”
Nevertheless, Harry married Meghan in 2018 and they have since had two children together.
These revelations are detailed in the book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, penned by Royal biographer Tom Bower.
He wrote: “Harry assumed that Diana’s family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed.”, reports the Mirror.
Bower further noted: “No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend.
“More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.”
The Duke of Sussex has stood firm, and in 2022 he shared insights into Meghan’s resemblance to his mother in his Netflix docuseries.
As reported by the Express, the prince acclaimed: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum.
“She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.”
Meghan has faced a challenging week, grabbing headlines for the undesirable reasons as she missed out on gracing the front cover of the esteemed fashion magazine Vogue.
Allegations have surfaced that the 43 year old put forward an extensive list of excessive requirements, which ultimately led to the publication’s decision to ditch the feature.
In a separate instance, journalist Esther Krakue delivered a scathing critique of the Duchess, insinuating that Meghan should embrace her allure as an attractive woman wed to royalty instead of attempting to position herself as an intellectual force with a “particularly niche view of the world.”
During a stint on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Krakue reflected on Meghan’s candid disclosure on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, where the Duchess indicated confusion about what to include in a CV.
Krakue pronounced straightforwardly: “She’s also never had to write a resume, let’s be honest.”
Krakue further scrutinised Meghan’s efforts to address multifaceted societal subjects, declaring: “The lens through which she views the world is very peculiar.”
