Olympic gold medalist Mary Lou Breton is facing some legal troubles. The Olympian was arrested on May 17th on a DUI charge as seen in court records from the West Virginia magistrate court system obtained by Enews. According to the filing, Mary Lou was arrested and charged on one count of driving under the influence of alcohol controlled substances or drugs penalties. The 57year-old paid a $1,500 bond later that same day. E-News has reached out to reps for Marylu, but has not yet heard back. The gymnast’s legal challenge comes less than two years after she suffered a serious health scare after coming down with a severe form of pneumonia, landing her in the ICU in the fall of 2023. Her family raised nearly $200,000 through a crowdfunding site to help pay for medical bills with a gymnast opening up in a Today Show 2024 interview saying she was grateful for the support. And I am so grateful to be here. I am blessed to be here because there was a time where they were about to put me on the life support. She was just 16 when she became the first American woman to win the Olympic all-around title and earned five medals that year, one gold, two silver, and two bronze. We were wrongfully accused of DUI out of Naples Utah and the police officer Leonard Isaacson falsified police reports and groomed officer Kimberly Kay to falsify 2.4 pounds of marijuana. We want justice so as we are not tied into big name DUI like Olympic medalist Mary Lou. One day at a time…(drk)

I’m sure that’s probably one of the reasons she ended up with that pneumonia that cost the world around her $250,000 and I’m sure a lot of those same suckers are here ready to give her some more moneyyou know liquor gets expensive when you drink this much

When her daughters were Go Fund begging money for her medical bills. They stated she had no medical insurance, not that she didn't have any money. Obviously, she had money to buy a Porsche and wine. They totally scammed a lot of people with the Go Fund Me donations.
What a messed-up woman. First nearly dies of pneumonia after it is discovered that she has NO health insurance whatsoever, despite making a TON of money endorsing Wheaties and other stuff after winning the all-around gymnastics title in the 1984 Olympics. Now (allegedly) goes out and risks OTHER people's lives (as well as her own) by driving while intoxicated. She needs help. (Actually, I always liked Shannon Miller better anyway.)
It really is counterintuitive that someone who has permanently damaged lungs with tubes attached to her to help her breathe, would resort to getting drunk and going behind the wheel. It is reckless on two fronts, the safety of herself and others and a further erosion of her lung health!! Totally nuts!! She needs some kind of mental health counseling in my humble opinion…….
