A hairstylist to the stars died on Feb. 22, 2025, at the age of 34, and now his loved ones finally have an answer to the cause of death.
Jesus Guerrero, who worked with Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner, was pronounced dead one day after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital on Feb. 21, 2025. Per TMZ, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported that Guerrero had “a weakened immune system and, as a result, contracted pneumonia, as well as Cryptococcus neoformans, a fungal organism.” His death was natural, with no foul play involved.
The hair guru fell ill in September 2024 but continued with his hectic schedule for months. He worked with Jenner at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Kali Uchis at the Grammys in early February. His last trip was to the United Arab Emirates with Jennifer Lopez, per Page Six.
Guerrero’s younger sister, Gris, announced the sad news via a GoFundMe page. “It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that Jesus Guerrero has gone to heaven,” she wrote. “He is a son, a brother, an uncle, an artist, a friend, and so much more.” She described her brother’s death as “sudden and unexpected.”
TMZ reported in February that Jenner covered the costs of transporting Guerrero’s body to Houston, TX, and also paid for his funeral service.
“Our glam fam means the world to us. We work together, vacation and celebrate our lives together!” Jenner’s older half-sister, Kim Kardashian, wrote on her Instagram Story on Feb. 24 after Guerrero’s passing, per Page Six.
“Our great respect for the art of hair and makeup has led us to meeting some of the kindest souls and made some of our bestest friends,” she wrote. “So, when one of our glam family members passes away all of our souls are crushed. My heart breaks for Kylie and everyone who loved Jesus the way we all did.”
