It seems that the Duchess has done a swift U-turn, however: on As Ever’s Instagram page, Meghan dropped the bombshell news that the brand’s products will soon be replenished, alongside new launches. ‘To all who’ve been wondering and waiting, thank you!’ she wrote. ‘Your favourites are returning, plus a few NEW things we can’t wait to show you. Coming this month… get excited!’

    Presumably, Meghan’s famous £22 honey and £11 jam will be on the list of items to restock, but nothing has yet been revealed about these mysterious new launches. Trademarks have been filed for products including cocktail mixes – so could we see Meg’s Magarita becoming the hottest drink of the summer? Hospitality services ‘in the nature of provision of food and drink’ have also been registered, alongside bird seed, match boxes and meditation blankets.

    Meghan Markle launched As Ever in tandem with her Netflix documentary in March this year. In her recent Fast Company interview, Meghan revealed that she had been exploring various ways of launching a business when Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, approached her. ‘At the time, I had been working towards building out my own in-house team,’ Meghan says. ‘But I had a complete U-turn because I completely bought into the vision she was sharing, which is where content and commerce meet, not in a product placement way, but rather in an ideological way. The brand is in the same universe as the show, but they’re not the same.’
