chris Evans and Dakota Johnson attended the premiere of their new movie Materialist we spoke with Chris on the red carpet who let us know why Pedro was missing how are you celebrating your birthday this week uh you know this this uh promoting this movie I’m so proud of love seeing you back in a romcom we were so excited for this film what about this project drew you to it i love romcoms and this is kind of a a romcom dram you know what I mean there’s there’s more depth to it and most romcoms have this very uh idealistic version of what love is or what it should be and this has a little bit more of an authentic grounded feeling a little less naive because real love is uh messy and complicated speaking of love how is married life treating you how are you guys doing you have any fun summer plans it’s incredible it’s wonderful no we’re laying low we’re enjoying our time just relaxing i know so many fans are wanting you to not just do romcoms to see you back in the Marvel universe what’s your reaction when you see that what are your thoughts on that well that’s very sweet it’s very kind that’s why we don’t have our our third wheel Pedro tonight he’s off saving the world with my old buddies uh yeah you know listen that was a good run and it’s it’s close to my heart but there was a time for that we also spoke with Dakota about working with Pedro and so much more what about this project got you excited made you want to say yes well I I couldn’t believe that Seline wanted to work with me i I was desperate to just meet her because I think she’s an incredible filmmaker and when I read it it was just so poetic and beautiful what conversations about love and dating are you hoping that this film is going to spark in the cultural discourse m I hope that people just think a little deeper about what their true soul wants and what might be more valuable than actual valuable things last question you’re working with Pedro Pascal the internet’s boyfriend what’s the best part about starring alongside him um well we’re really close friends so the best part was just hanging out all the time you can catch Chris and Dakota on the big screen this Friday [Music]
