like no one has yet but I think yeah in the middle of the night yeah while I am in San Francisco working Chloe has been keeping me up to date with the fires happening right near us in Calabasas i mean if it gets really bad we’ll jump on a plane and come home but Jessica is back from the White House she was working hard on getting the First Step Act passed and I want to talk about it [Music] who do Boo Bear hey Dream you want cookies can you say hi to True hi a you’re so cute i cannot believe that Dream is going to be 2 years old rob is honestly the best dad he reminds me so much of my dad and how attentive and fun and loving he is with her this is the first year that Rob gets Dream on her actual birthday and Rob is so just happy that he gets to be throwing her a party if you want ice cream for a long time nice to meet you nice to meet you today I’m at the Cut 50 offices which is an organization set up by Van Jones and Jessica they have been working so hard to get numerous bills passed but the most current one that they’ve been working on is the First Step Act kanye is with me just helping out with the kids and stuff while I’m working going to law school and having to do that 18 hours a week is completely separate from any prison reform work that I do i think the way that Trump works is it’s good to kind of give him something he can do in the more immediate future like look people are being abused in prisons we need to pass the prison reform legislation and I need you to endorse it right now jessica has been working for about 18 months on the First Step Act and the last time any bill like this has ever been passed was over a decade ago so it’s a great bill it bans the shackling of women while they’re in labor they are shackled while they’re in labor it is extremely important for the president to endorse the First Step Act there’s so many issues that it really covers it’ll really help prison conditions it’ll reunite people with their families i’m really excited to support it and hopefully we’ll all get it passed it also increases programming so people who want to take rehabilitative courses can do so so it’s a huge impact and then I feel like we can literally get this done tonight in Southern California dangerous winds posing an even bigger threat as a second firestorm continues to grow let’s just make sure the doors are locked in case we have to leave okay let’s put this rosé into the thing we don’t need the rosé you might need it i might need the rosé pretty bottle hey okay so are you aware of the fire and everything cuz I don’t know what’s happening i’m not here yet oh well if you need to come here come here okay i love you be updated with How do we know when we have to go and just call everyone’s home there is a massive brush fire that’s not too far away from where we live we have been following the fires all day long the winds have been crazy and now the front gate just called and we do have a voluntary evacuation in the area we’re just packing up the kids are showering so that we’re all like dressed and ready and then we’ll toss and see what his plan is okay okay bye should we pack well I have my pre prepacked toiletry bag and stuff pack the range of like memory box valuables [Music] what do you tape everything’s valuable this is crazy i don’t have an escape plan for a fire like where the hell am I going i need to figure this out but I just feel like once I start packing my bag that just makes it way too real so I’m kind of in disbelief [Music] thousands of homes are in danger as firefighters struggle to contain a fire that erupted earlier this afternoon officials are now calling for the evacuation of the Malibu Canyon area hey hey what are you doing we just called the sheriff right now everything’s voluntary but I don’t like no one has yet but I think we’re true in case in the middle of the night yeah while I am in San Francisco working Chloe has been keeping me up to date with the fires that’s amazing and if we want to get people out of prison in the federal system we can get clemencies you got to talk to the president or we can get bills passed you got to have his signature so any press we get to this issue is really helpful we need to be getting it out there that people are talking about prison reform they’re wanting to see prison reform happen yeah this weekend I’m going to be on a panel with Van Jones talking about criminal justice reform the ultimate goal here is to get Trump to endorse the First Step Act so in the meantime we’re just going to keep on talking about it and hopefully enough people will get on board and really believe in this kim Kardashian [Laughter] kim Kardashian mhm oh [Music] I’m hearing all these reports saying fires are really close to our area and we now have to evacuate so we get on a plane home there are numerous communities that are currently evacuating the entire community of Hidden Hills Malibu and Pinga Canyon are all under mandatory evacuation run oh Pop-Tart crisp they have Pop-Tart Chris chloe the fire chloe pop-tart crisp we literally we got to go start getting your stuff that just jumped the freeway so come and get your stuff i’m not Chloe I’m not going i’m not going to no hotel chloe chloe chloe we have to get the out of here why are we leaving dream is sleeping it’s her It’s about to be her birthday i have balloons being delivered cakes everything for her i know Rob has this big birthday plan for Dream but my brother’s not really understanding the severity of it in my opinion chloe and with kids you can’t just take things lightly look double dares on are you right now look remember this show get up and let’s go i’ll leave but I’m going to go back to my house the sheriff got you out of the house they are just doing that to protect everybody but now it’s not like that all right you’re one of those people that won’t evacuate in an evacuation that’s like because we’re safe okay here let me help you with your bag please [Music] they’re evacuating everyone right now entire community houses under smoke is billowing behind the yard they’re looking at my camera please call Rob i can’t fight with you any longer lighting call him why is he like this yes he will listen to you look at that fire roaring like that hey I’m really really freaking out right now rob I’ve been trying to find Rob he’s being a effing dic i got to go what is Ken saying this is her house oh my god i literally have chills oh my god he’s not answering my calls oh my god i hate him have we reached mom have we reached mom i’m freaking out i am getting a little nervous i don’t know where my mom and Rob are but Kim Kanye and their whole tribe is at the hotel and Courtney’s house is on the on the TV screen her next door neighbor two houses away i’m watching them take fire hoses in their pool trying to save their own house are you okay i just Hey Ba mom are you okay are you out yes sir okay good where are you guys going uh we’re going to Dick’s house stay at his house for the night oh okay chloe’s at the Beverly i’m having a nervous breakdown fullblown nervous breakdown yeah she’s tripping i’ve been fine the whole time i know you have bizarrely fine kim’s house is on fire we have video of it you’re lying i just looked no Kim’s up to her property line is on fire i don’t understand why no one is freaking out this is where our families live like what are we I don’t understand why everyone Why are you just sitting here what do you mean [Music] are you okay i’m out of there the police comes to the door you need to leave so dark and scary and flashlight in plastic bags i don’t I I mean I’m just like every time I talk about it I’m just on the verge of tears just like crazy i know as I was driving away I said my house and I was just bursting into tears and I saw the flames next to Kim like I just don’t know what to do everyone’s homes are burning down and it’s you see on the news Kim and Kanye West’s home up in flames and then my mom’s house is right down the street and then I’m then my brother’s house is 3 minutes away our whole family is in one area and if they all burn down it just makes me so sad holy crap this is It looks like Armageddon [Music] you guys we’re all just going to like hang out together and sleep over so fun i feel like the news should be on right now no one’s watching what’s happening this has probably been the longest night of my life cuz I am not sleeping my mom and Corey are at their condo kylie’s on tour with Travis um Kendall’s house is not like in the line of fire and Scott apparently has an apartment in Beverly Hills so Scott is in Beverly Hills at his apartment thank God everyone is safe can you come here for a second here play that and then I’ll be back ke can you come here for one sec bam i feel like we’ve had enough like fire talk so we should just keep the energy like good for the kids and just not like sit and focus on the news yeah i feel like I’ve been sitting watching the news every second you know so I think we need to like have fun with them okay and just I know it’s hard for you i feel like I’m doing better so it’ll be easy the kids are distracting me oh I’m not doing better it’s hard for me to stay calm with just all the anxiety I have i’ve never experienced something like this before i’ve never been evacuated but I will do my best to put on a brave face for the kids cuz they don’t need to know the severity of what is happening they’re just children i know that my loved ones are safe and I’m so blessed and thankful for that and tomorrow will be a better day do you want to jump on the bed whoa whoa whoa thank you really fast like this oh jumping on the stomach ale ashes ashes we all [Music] What started as a brush fire in a small area has now exploded into one of the worst wildfires in California history so I’m kind of freaking out a little bit what’s going on so Alice Johnson is supposed to come in town to go with me to this prison reform summit that I’m doing and she was going to come in town and cook with us but we were supposed to do it at my house in the big kitchen oh and now I don’t even have a kitchen to cook in well um in the midst of all of the fires there’s a prison reform summit that I’m supposed to be speaking at with Alice and I didn’t want to cancel on her cuz I really wanted Alice to come in town and cook with us and just like hang out with the family and she always talks about like the first thing she was going to do when she got out she really wanted a home-cooked meal and that her family makes the best food so I was like I have to try this food who else has a big kitchen we could use you could do it at Kendall’s house i mean that would be so wonderful they would love that all right so we can go to Kendall’s which I like the vibe so what happened last night i mean it was like all of us were in like one suite and we’re like we just got to figure it out yeah it’s just really made me realize how fortunate we are and how lucky we are not only to have each other but there’s a lot of people who can’t afford to you know go stay in a hotel in their home i know they don’t have anywhere to go can you imagine they got turned down from shelters some people sleeping in their cars people died in their cars i know that’s what’s insane it makes me so sad i really want to maybe help someone that’s really in need actually that’s a really good idea all right i hate to meet and run love you um I’m just wondering where my keys are the Malibu coastline is covered by a growing tower of smoke homes have been destroyed and thousands have been evacuated in Los Angeles [Music] doorbell guys it’s Alice look at you how you doing nice to know you how you doing nice to see you this is Kendall’s house cuz all of us are evacuated from our homes my mom my sisters everyone’s coming they’re so excited to meet you we are really looking forward to this yeah I’m looking so forward to this let’s go in the kitchen let’s get out here let’s get going kanye is a man it is and we will never forget this kanye Kanye very much you know she does all the research and listens every night to people’s stories it’s like you know somebody’s got to just be like fearless i’m a person who stands up for what is right and I respect someone who stands up well I’m going to go to the studio okay all right i daughter Chandler where’s Arizona arizona with She’s got twins i’ve got twin gra eight-month-olds oh my gosh crazy they’re going to send you a playmate for your baby oh my god where do you apparently how you like Arizona i like it i miss my I miss my sisters a lot but it feels good to be there to watch the babies grow oh my gosh what a what a joy i mean what a gift her first babies a And then when you left after I want to cry right now i don’t know why i’m just kidding when you left what did you have after 20 years home you can’t have anything that you came in with what you saw me run across the street in was all that you had [Music] [Music] i know you got a book deal and I know you know exciting things are happening for you if it wasn’t for that were you thinking about getting a job and how would that have happened cuz I have heard that is like the hardest thing to do i know people that was one of the reasons that many of them came back to prison they couldn’t find jobs and they returned to what they knew when I was pleading your case to the president I was like she has family that she can live with and she has job offers so that was like a huge thing is I had to say she has a job offer you know it’s really good to spend time with Alice and her family and just to like hear from her about you know what it’s like to really have her life back and to really just be adjusting so well you know there’s so many people in Alice’s situation that really do deserve a second chance and that’s one of the main reasons I’m really fighting for this first step act alice is so thankful for every little thing that she is able to do and that just makes me really happy [Music] so how you doing with the fires i’m still not in the house in the house wow yeah they are opening up Hidden Hills but it’s so smoky so it’s not really safe i didn’t even have like my outfit that I was planning on wearing to come here your name i think I borrowed this outfit from one of my sisters real talk this law school there’s so much reading to do i’m like dying here like I’m like I’m dying here’s what I say to you law school is more of a socialization process than an educational process anyway yeah so it’s really learning to think like a lawyer more than all the actual stuff and the gifts that you already bring to your advocacy in terms of just the doggginess the determination the like like the way you like are um so rigorous when you’re you know like all that stuff you can’t teach oh thank you they can do it okay everyone we are going to the main event all right all right they’re going to announce you onto the stage man and then you’re going to bring him onto the stage it’s handheld mics you ready i am it’s always easy it’s just Is it like a fireside Q&A yeah so she’s ready i can answer anything it’s true it’s been proven and if I don’t know the answer I’ll say “Ask my attorney in the front row please.” No chop chop talking about the first step act everyone is anxiously waiting to see what the president is going to do is he going to endorse it is he not it’s in a live conference so we’re able to see it in real time jessica’s right over there coming in he’s right my administration over the last two years these members have reached a bipartisan agreement on prison reform legislation known as the first step and that’s what it is it’s a first step but it’s a very big first step today I’m thrilled to announce my support for this bipartisan bill [Music] thank you very much amazing being in the room with Van and Alice and everyone that had been fighting so hard for this first step act to pass and seeing Jessica right there with the president it’s so exciting 3 months during the post pregnancy like beyond just the energy of how happy everyone is about this decision it’s just such a special moment ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the stage Van Jones hello uh I’m happy to announce that while we are sitting here President Donald Trump is announcing that he is going to support the First Step Act which is unbelievable um um it’s just hitting me that we might actually get this damn thing done [Applause] [Music] oh by the way Miss Alice Johnson is did consider the fact that I would get a lot of backlash if I went to the White House but for me if it’s a life versus my reputation like people talk about me all day long like I didn’t really care you know and from meeting all of the people that I have met behind bars I guarantee you they don’t care who signs that clemency paper like so it wasn’t an option for me um your husband Mhm you guys have different politics not I feel like he’s very misunderstood and just is the worst communicator but but when we talk about it we have very similar politics i think what my husband fights for is the right to like what he wants to like even if it’s different from what you he’s just fighting for free thought but um but I just know his heart so I never really stress too much um tell me why you love him so much i do respect the fact that he’s always himself no matter if it’s popular i look back at like all the products I would endorse and cupcakes and shoes that I would never wear and all this stuff that wasn’t me and I would do it for the check i’m not like that anymore because of him because he has really shown me like what to do what I believe in [Applause] give a round of applause fire it is now 80% contained many evacuation orders have been lifted throughout the burn areas we’re home let’s go see upstairs mama we’re back with your toys look at her looking everywhere wow is your stuff here she’s like “What hi.” Hi hi Mom what’s happening goodness i just wanted to make sure you were okay my gosh well with that coat we would definitely be okay they could have found us from Mars holy crap well in case it was Smokeoky in here i wanted to make sure that you reflected coat what are you doing my little angel are you happy to be home see we just got home i know i saw you guys drive up my goodness oh my goodness so how does everything look it looks good the fire smell isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be well we’ve had those air scrubbers here cuz we weren’t allowed to come in um with the baby until the air was more purified well the fire came right up to your backyard i know courtney’s was way worse than mine where in regards to where it came up to yeah let’s go downstairs and take a look at the rest of the house chris oh it’s bright it’s crazy but it’s crazy the flowers still look good no everything still looks good thank god you can smell the smoke it’s really Yeah no I mean Courtney Street was on fire everything looks so pretty though isn’t it amazing on a day like this you wake up and it looks so beautiful and calm and then you just instantly forget about all the devastation we are very blessed that nothing happened yeah we are how does your house look well the um machines have been in the house for like 2 days and they’re so loud this is the third day yeah third day so they’re loud i am so relieved my house is fine i mean there’s smoke damage but it’s nothing compared to so many other people’s homes that have been completely destroyed it breaks my soul to think about someone having to completely rebuild and lose every single tangible memory but we have our health and our family and that is what matters at the end of the day i love you i love you too so crazy thank God [Music] hi [Music] hi guys dreamy [Music] kylie it’s so cute you did such a good job hey look at me this was so nice for you to do this you’re like the party queen you got this down and just made it look bad of the fires like she wasn’t going to have a birthday party and thank God I had somebody to come and get all my important belongings like for the people who don’t have that don’t have people to help don’t have f even friends family that live here like it’s crazy it’s just really made me realize how fortunate we are i’m so glad it turned out so cute though i can’t think of a better way to recover from all of the fire drama than to celebrate Dream’s birthday i’m so glad that this happened for Rob and Dream happy birthday it’s a huge success okay we’re going to sing happy birthday everybody happy birthday to you happy birthday to you come on happy birthday dear Dream hey come on yay happy birthday to you blow it up blow it up yay dream look at me this week has been such a test for I think all of us i’m so thankful none of us lost our house and just to everybody that’s fought for all of our lives and safety I’m very thankful for all of you we would like to dedicate this win to all of the firefighters the law enforcement and the first responders so anything that we can do to help no form of help is too small [Music] i am so excited this birthday party was a success it’s so much fun being here with my family and just dancing and just the whole vibe it’s amazing this ice cream yeah when you talk about the donation make sure you include Kanye using the energy that’s beautiful bring the California firefighters are some of the bravest people I know and one of those firefighters is here today he and his wife Lisa the hardest thing was I seen the flames coming in the garage and I called my mom i don’t think we’re going to make it unfortunately there’s so many people that are in shelters that have nowhere to go that have lost everything and you know at a time like this Kanye and I can give back and maybe help someone that’s really in need kanye and I with Adidas and Yeezy would love to donate $100,000 today [Applause] i know that these checks won’t bring back all the memories that they’ve lost in their homes but hopefully it can just be a jump start to get back on their feet [Music]
