Meghan Markle has been warned against moving into the hotel and restaurant industries amid reports she wants to expand her As Ever brand.

The Duchess of Sussex is believed to be trademarking her brand As Ever for “hospitality services.” This would include places to stay, as well as the “provision of food and drink,” according to reports.

However, PR expert Ryan McCormick has urged Meghan to reconsider. He suggested this business move could risk fans being confused about what Meghan’s “messaging” is.

Speaking exclusively to The Express US, he explained, “From a PR perspective, I don’t think the As Ever brand is established or has clear messaging yet. I personally can’t gauge what are the definable commonalities and universal qualities that each of AE’s products share.

“Some of Markle’s offerings are $9 raspberry jam spread and $12 tea.”

According to The Sun, Meghan could sell fans a selection of her own edible creations as part of her new business filing.

Meghan launched her As Ever brand to tie in with her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. In the program, the former Suits actress showed off her hosting tips, as well as her go-to recipes and party planning tricks.

At one point, she admitted, “When I have someone stay, one of my favourite things to do is prep the guest room.”
