So many negative comments, listen if you're so scared the show is gonna be ruined, then don't watch it. It's curious that when Dexter was announced it was coming back people were so excited even though they butchered the final episodes…twice. I think Sarah wouldn't have done it if she didn't think is good. I'm so excited❤

Omg I remember this was my favorite show after coming home from school. It was airing early evening after the afternoon cartoons! I’m so excited!

I loved Buffy more than anything growing up. I'm going to withhold any judgements until I see what they do. I don't believe SMG wouldn't have agreed to this if she weren't certain she would not ruin the Buffy Legacy. Let's give her and our new slayer here a chance.

This is about power. Gellar’s power to do the aesthetically and creatively tired thing to reboot an old brand, (something common in Hollywood) a brand that many are probably nostalgic for (but not me). One wonders if Gellar, whose career is studded with mediocre and mostly bad films and TV shows, wants to, like chair sitting Xander in Hell’s Bells, relive her glory days and Buffy is about the only glory day she has or is she has nothing else to do.
The problem is that Gellar doesn’t have the aesthetic chops to do a quality TV show. Actors are only as good as the writers who write for them, the directors who direct them, and the craftspeople who provide environments for them to work in. And, as I said, if past is prologue, and it usually is, Gellar’s record is one of, at best, mediocrity. That said, we will have to see who gets what is likely to be the assembly line like jobs of show runner and writers given that Queen S is unlikely to play either role and is certainly is not an auteur.
This tired reboot is, I suspect, likely to be a stain on the legacy of a great show studded with great writers and great directors. It will be a blot on a show that is one of the few US shows that can actually be spoken of in the same breath as the great quality British TV shows. And so it goes…

Really?! Why reboot "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" well I am not much of a devoter 90's fan but rebooting every 90's film and TV series. Although I really want "Xena The Warrior Princess" be rebooted kinda.

hi from germany as a 66 year old fan what to say first way to long till they tryed it the new actor I seen her play well as a sort of andriod was fun we never know how it ends so give her a chance we all know the first buffy all though it will fail I loved Buffyat the first 5 minutes and I bet all you did too gosh I was younger at that time we have to give her a chance and even if the first is not so great I seen shows grow like voyager so all around the world lets greet her and let us be all humans and kind
I'm worried that this reboot quasi sequel uh might not be any good. None of the original writers or the creator are coming back, at least the OG writers would have given me hope. Yes what I'm saying will not be popular, especially by looking at the comments on here, but I'm shadow banned so i dont care. The cast looks fine but I am really worried that the show, without the creative force, it use to have, will not be good and it could tarnish the legacy of Buffy. I really do hope after all is said and done that the show is good.🙏 Ok I'll go away now.
