Meghan Markle shared a sweet tribute to Prince Harry to mark Father’s Day this year, with fans noticing one key change in her most recent post. Since publicly launching her Instagram account at the start of the year, The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has been careful to show just glimpses of her children’s lives.
While she has posted pictures and videos of the couple’s children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, before, she has always somehow concealed their faces, even going as far as to put heart emojis over them in recent Disneyland pictures. However, in this latest video, the the children’s faces can be clearly seen, particularly Archie’s, sending fans into a frenzy.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Brand and Culture expert Nick Ede said that he thinks this is a way for Meghan to stay in the headlines and “control” the narrative.
Talking about the choice to now show her children’s faces, Mr Ede said: “I think this is a strategy for Meghan to be in control of the narrative and to allow her fans a glimpse into her life and her children.
“There has been lots of internet speculation about the children and these breadcrumbs and teasers allow her to be in control, to stop speculation and to keep giving fans what they want, keeping her in the headlines and establishing her as a loving parent.
“She knows that by showing her kids faces it will break the internet and she’s cleverly managing the narrative herself rather than someone leaking images of them to the media.”
In the video posted in the last 24 hours, Archie and Lilibet can be seen sharing sweet moments with Prince Harry.
This includes clips of them cuddling their dad in the garden of their Montecito estate and enjoying a beach day.
Other snippets show Harry teaching Archie how to ride a bike, while a young Lilibet runs after them.
Meghan captioned the post: “The best. Happy Father’s Day to our favourite guy.”
It is believed the couple did previously not share photographs of their children’s faces online for privacy and safety reasons.
