Elio’s Zoe Saldaña & Yonas Kibreab Teach Us Gen Z Buzz Words!
which one of these is you i don’t know but I think that one is you congratulations on playing Elio this is so great you know I was I was looking and this is actually the 25th anniversary of Center Stage which was your first film so I’m curious what you remember about those early Pinch Me moments and if you’re seeing reflections of that seeing Yonas kind of on the role and taking on Elio i mean it it was just you know shooting in Lincoln Center and and being around um you know ballet dancers who I’ve always regarded as gladiators just everything that they’re able to do is so beautiful and so those were those pinch me moments of that little girl in me that was dreaming always to be in Lincoln Center and all of a sudden I’m doing a film that takes place all throughout Lincoln Center was really beautiful what about you well that was your center pinch me no not center your pinch me moment i like the story i knew that they they offered you the part of Elio oh tell me yes oh I think like a pinch me moment that’s like a surreal moment almost right do you know what it means okay you’re like I can’t believe this is my life is this really happening i think like realizing that I mean cuz ever since I was maybe I think the first Pixar movie I saw was maybe five and I think it was I don’t even know i know my mom knows 100% she knows but uh let’s just say it was Incredibles for example i mean I I love all the Pixar movies and I watch them all the time and I still do today and just to be in one in an original Pixar movie uh is such a pinch me moment i’ve never heard that saying before that’s gen stuff you know and he’s like “Nen Z Gen Alpha.” And I’m like “See I just taught you something.” Cuz he’s been teaching me how to gen Z what have you What have you taught her teach me something okay you know what Riz is i do it’s like charisma okay do you know what but don’t be skippy about it i don’t know what that means right oh god he just rolled his eyes you just lost all your Don’t help her what What does it mean yeah what do you know i don’t either when you go I’m feeling Skiibbidity what does that mean i’m feeling I’m feeling I don’t even know if Skibbid is like an emotion it’s like It’s like a character with like a head popping out of a toilet that’s like where it came from yeah and like Michael Ba is doing a movie about it i don’t understand yeah I heard they’re uh coming out with one Skippy Toilet oh my god oh my god i have to see it skippy Toilet Ohio what is it well we didn’t add the Ohio part what can you tell me something what is a lab boooo oh I want one so bad what is a little boo boo okay laboo i thought it was like slang for No it’s like Okay it’s like this this big it’s so cute they’re like this big it’s like a It almost is like Gordon but like a fuzzy version like it has all these teeth and it Gordon doesn’t have eyes but the Luboos have eyes it’s like a beanie baby but Yeah but like you can put it on your like purse or something like a bag i think it is like kind of the modern furby cuz it’s like you have to wait in these crazy lines to get them they’re hard to get right yeah i mean some there’s like exclusive ones that are super expensive but I like that I’m using this interview just to learn how get in the Get with it get with it i will say if you’re if you’re going to do a sci-fi movie there’s no one better to do it with than Zoe so I’m curious not to not to put you on the spot but do you have a favorite character that Zoe’s played ooh I said last time I said Gamora i think Gamora is my favorite cuz I love Guardians of the Galaxy a Yeah me too i have to say I mean uh uh James G was saying he would love for you to be in the DCU and he said he’s a character in mind for you he said this on like threads or Twitter have you guys had a real conversation about that happening at this point no but I can’t wait for Superman and I think we’re all sort of like anticipating um he’s so talent he he’s he’s so talented and I’m pretty sure that that he’s going to bring a lot of heart but also a lot of humor and levity to to this beautiful you know legacy of a of a story yeah and that dog is so cute so if any aliens are listening please come and get me okay bye love you [Music]
