The Princess of Wales reportedly maintains a consistent superfood breakfast ritual which is proven to lower cholesterol. Kate, who celebrated her 43rd birthday recently, has faced a tough period with her health, undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was detected.

Her treatment were completed in the autumn and the Princess shared her commitment to “staying cancer free” in an open-hearted family video. With her health gradually improving, Kate has been easing back into Royal responsibilities, marked by an emotional visit to Southport in October to pay tribute to three schoolgirls who tragically lost their lives.

She now aims to continue enhancing her fitness levels. Known for her interest in wellness and a former tennis enthusiast, the Princess’s dietary habits echo her health-conscious approach. Over the years, media coverage has consistently highlighted her preference for fruit and vegetable-rich meals.

Morning routines are believed to include indulging in a bowl of slow-release energy oats, an ideal choice for the bustling life of a mother of three. In ‘Catherine, The Princess of Wales’, Royal biographer Robert Jobson notes that Prince William and Kate’s dedication to healthy eating persists as a daily practice, reports Edinburgh Live.

The author noted: “Catherine is said to favour slow-burn energy oats for breakfast and both are light eaters at lunch, enjoying salads and fruits. She also has healthy snacks and once told a child at Great Ormond Street Hospital that she ate a lot of olives.”

“Given her model figure, her sweet tooth is a surprise to some and apparently she loves sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Neither of them are big drinkers; William favours a pint of cider over beer and Catherine’s aperitif of choice is a gin and tonic.”

Oatmeal, also known as porridge, is hailed as a ‘superfood’. It’s been suggested that oats can help maintain satiety, potentially helping with weight management by reducing the likelihood of snacking or overeating.

Not only are they delicious and simple to whip up, they’re also celebrated for their cholesterol-lowering properties. A significant factor in this is their fibre content, with a 40g serving of rolled oats containing about 3g of fibre.

Fibre functions in the body by decelerating the absorption rate of cholesterol into the bloodstream and boosting the excretion of cholesterol. Specifically, soluble fibre, which oats are rich in, is known as beta-glucan. This type of fibre is effective in lowering cholesterol because it binds with cholesterol-rich bile acids in the intestines.

Healthline reports that oats are brimming with thiamine, phosphorus, magnesium, and B vitamins like niacin and folate. These nutrients work together to help your body metabolise energy. For more guidance on cholesterol, check out the NHS website.
