Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have distanced themselves from the Royal Family in recent years, but King Charles has reportedly included them in his official funeral plans. This comes amid growing concerns about the monarch’s health following his recent cancer diagnosis, details of which have not been made public. According to reports, Prince Harry is expected to walk alongside Prince William at the front of the funeral procession. The arrangements, which are meticulously planned years in advance, involve coordination between the “Royal Household, police, military and the Church.”
As per The Telegraph, “The King has factored not only the Duke but the Duchess of Sussex and their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three, into the heart of his funeral plans. Whenever the time comes, the monarch is adamant that his youngest son take his rightful place at the centre of his family, perhaps mindful of that final chance to create family harmony.”
The report further suggests that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be invited to join the royal family during the period when King Charles’s body lies in state at Westminster Hall, allowing the public to pay their respects. Special provisions have also been made for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to attend the funeral and the final service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, should the family choose to bring them. The inclusion of Harry, Meghan, and their children in these significant moments is expected to draw considerable public and media attention.
