Speaking on 5’s morning show ‘Jeremy Vine’ he made some strong points on both King Charles III and Meghan Markle…

Former royal butler Paul Burrell caused a stir on Jeremy Vine this morning with a string of controversial comments about King Charles, Princess Diana, and Meghan Markle.

Appearing as a guest on the 5 discussion show, Burrell said he believes Princess Diana would still be alive today if Charles had taken better care of her. His blunt remarks were quickly challenged by fellow panellist Ann Widdecombe, who called his comments “too harsh.”

“I’m a divorced man with two boys. I take great care of my wife,” Burrell said. “And if Charles had done that with Diana, she’d still be here today.”

Burrell, who served as Diana’s personal butler for over a decade, has long been outspoken about her treatment by the Royal Family. His latest claims reignited debate about the late Princess’s troubled marriage and tragic death in 1997.

Burrell also took aim at Meghan Markle, accusing the Duchess of Sussex of insensitivity for launching her new wine brand on what would have been Diana’s 63rd birthday.

“Isn’t this very sad,” he said, “that she should bring out her wine on the Princess’s birthday—when she was killed in a road traffic accident, actually induced by a man who was inebriated?

“It’s a great commercial date to launch something. So it’s the Princess’s birthday. I don’t think Meghan and Harry thought very much about it—they just went ahead and did it. In memory of the Princess.”

Fellow guest Marvyn Harrison attempted to defend the Sussexes, suggesting the launch date was likely tied to the stateside Independence Day holiday on July 4, not Diana’s birthday on July 1.

“It was probably absent-minded,” Harrison said. Burrell questioned why another date couldn’t have been chosen to avoid the painful coincidence. Clips of the moments have been shared by production company, ITN, on X: Burrell on Charles  and  Wine on Meghan
