Dad of 14-Year-Old Recovering From 120-Foot Cliff Fall Shares Update | E! News

Zayn walks dad detailing his son’s newest battle along his road to recovery. The 14-year-old was hiking with his father around California’s Mount Whitney in June when Zayn walked off a 120 ft trail ledge, an apparent result of experiencing altitude sickness. Per people, dad Ryan walked now sharing the latest obstacle in a June 26 Facebook post as Zayn enters a challenging chapter in his recovery. quote, “The hard part is that he is well into feeling the effects of withdrawal. He’s been on a lot of heavy drugs for a while, and getting off those is extremely painful,” adding, “As parents, it’s terrible to watch. We hope he gets through this with the least possible suffering.” this weeks after Zayn was rushed to a pediatric trauma center after suffering head trauma, a broken ankle, and a fractured pelvis, followed by Zayn being put into an induced coma. Ryan and Zayn, who his dad described as an experienced hiker, reached the summit when Zayn started showing signs of altitude sickness and apparently experienced an eerie vision involving fictional characters with the teen referencing Leonardo DiCaprio’s mind-bending film Inception, followed by Ryan hearing his son plummet from the trail rim.
