Nicholas Hoult on His Superman Character
It seems to be a lot of people’s favorite Superman was Christopher Ree, but he was with Gene Hackman playing Lex and that’s sort of like an iconic, you know, villain performance. What was it like for you taking on this role? Jean’s such a wonderful actor. Um in everything he did. I feel very proud to take on a role he did and I feel somewhat connected to him. I did a movie with Clint Eastwood and Clint obviously worked with Gene a couple of times and so I felt somehow connected. Umurdens and also I was lucky I got to meet Michael Rosenbomb before we started filming who is uh the Lex that I grew up with on Smallville. So that was very exciting to get his blessing and support. Um I think David said it best when he said uh pressure is opportunity. Um and I think that’s a really great way of looking at it because you know there is a lot of expectation around the movie. Um but that’s just makes we all care so much and and work
