Meghan Markle competed with Kim Shaw for her spot in the series…
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Meghan directly competed with one other actress before she was cast in Suit – Kim Shaw.
Jeff Wachtel, chief content officer of NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter that she booked it over Kim because of her chemistry with Patrick.
“They had it right away. It was a lot of fun,” he recalled.

Both Gabriel and Patrick shared the screen with their real-life partners Jacinda Barrett and Troian Bellisario, respectively.
“Troian comes in and plays a character from my past, so we have a flashback together, which like anything on Suits, can come to play a part in the present. But as of now, she just shot a flashback,” Patrick told Just Jared back in 2015, adding that there was always the possibility that she’d come back ion a more regular role.
What was it like for them to work together? “It was great. It was a little nerve-racking at first,” he explained. “I was about to start directing the next day, so I was a little distracted, but having her on set was so much fun. She made it so easy. Obviously, we get along really well and have some chemistry. We enjoy each other’s company and she’s such a pro. She came to set ready to work and kept things moving. So it was a really quick, easy, amazing day. And apparently really successful. Everybody who’s seen the episode says it’s really great”
