Princess Charlotte has given the public a glimpse into her passions through a sweet conversation with her mother, the Kate Middleton, during the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Kate and Prince William took their 10-year-old daughter Charlotte and 11-year-old son Prince George to the prestigious tournament in London, England, on Sunday July 13. During the appearance, the royals met history-making men’s doubles champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.

The British pair became the first from the UK to win doubles glory in nearly 90 years, and were introduced by Kate and Prince William to the young royals. It was during this encounter that Charlotte gave away a huge hint to one of her favourite hobbies.

According to lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman, Charlotte shared a heartwarming interaction with her brother and mother. Jeremy told the Mirror that he decoded a conversation between the three, claiming 43-year-old Kate said: “Wow, how about that?

“So, they only just started playing together ten months ago. And go on to win Wimbledon.” Charlotte, brimming with excitement, exclaimed: “Oh, wow.” However, George seemed less enamoured, as he was interpreted by Jeremy as replying: “Mmm nice, yeah.” Kate then added: “Not bad is it.”

Charlotte’s keen interest in tennis doesn’t come as a surprise. Royal commentator Ingrid Seward previously told The Sun: “Charlotte has always loved tennis, and mum Kate took her to Hurlingham when she was quite young to play tennis there. Tennis is a big family thing on both sides.”

The Royal Family attended Wimbledon to witness defending champion Carlos Alcaraz battle against the world number one Jannik Sinner. Having done so for the women’s singles, Kate once again presented the trophy on Centre Court to men’s singles champion Sinner.

The Princess of Wales, serving as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, was honored with a standing ovation as she entered the Royal Box at Centre Court. Jeremy reported that Kate, responding to the crowd’s cheers, said: “Thanks. Hi.”

She then turned to someone off-camera and remarked: “Sweet, very nice to hear!”. Attending solo without her husband and children, Kate had watched as Poland’s Iga Swiatek dominated over American Amanda Anisimova with a 6–0, 6-0 victory in the women’s final.

After the match, showcasing her grace, she consoled the runner-up by saying: “You should be so proud, well done, and enjoy yourself.” Backstage, speaking to the champion Swiatek, Kate advised: “Ensure you have some downtime.”

She also praised: “Wonderful, extraordinary achievement, very well done. Congratulations and enjoy it. Enjoy the celebrations back home.”
