‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Sequel Update From Henry Golding | E! News

Charlisse Sarin recently hosted her Africa Outreach Project Block Party fundraiser right here in Hollywood and we chatted with her on the red carpet. You just joked about the fact that your daughters are so not impressed by what you do. What are they impressed by? Do they bring stuff to you and go, “Mom, this is actually what’s cool.” No, they don’t bring anything. They’re just doing their thing. They’re just being normal normal kids. They’re they’re like everybody else. I think they’re very excited about Renee Rap tonight, though. She’s a great great human. And we’re very lucky to have her here tonight. Do you have any summer plans? Any vacations? The summer I don’t share it. It’s my time off. Yes. Yeah. Almost 20 years that you’ve been working with this foundation. It is your foundation. Why is it so important to you? I really truly believe that a lot of the answers that will solve a lot of our problems lie with young people. I feel like they’re the ones that are resilient enough to really stand up and and take a stand. And I feel like all we need to do is just set them up in the right way and they will actually they’ll do the rest. What we’re doing is really trying to get the resources to partners who are already on the ground. You talk about young people, your daughters, do they do any work with the organization? Have you introduced them to it? Yes. I I try to make my kids aware that moms from South Africa and that young girls and boys might not have it as good as us over here. We also spoke with her, The Old Guard 2 co-star, Henry Golding. Why was it important for you to come here and support your friends? I mean, Charlies is always doing something amazing for charity and and and this is one of many of her things that she supports. So, you know, raising money for underprivileged children in South Africa is like super important. It’s our home hometown, home home country. Um, so whatever we can do, we we’ll turn up, we can uh we’ll party and uh you know, raise some money. You just revealed Crazy Rich Asians has a series. Any updates? It’s all out there in the ether. Hopefully they’re getting the writing together. So, um, we’ll see. We, you know, maybe next year we’ll tell. How excited would you be to go back though to go back to that film? That’d be awesome. Yeah. Yeah. Revisit like the first role that really sort of it really sort of broke me out. So, no, I’d be happy to come back. [Music]
