Royal fans have shared their thoughts on Meghan Markle appearing to copy members of the Royal Family with her Instagram posts, including Meghan’s most recent post featuring her rescue Beagle, Mia. Meghan shared her weekend activities with fans in an upload which showed her holding onto her pet pooch as she sipped a cup of herbal tea.

The post came just hours after Queen Camilla shared an image of herself cradling her own new rescue dog, Moley, which was captured in the garden at Raymill, Her Majesty’s private house in Wiltshire, by photographer Chris Jackson.

One royal fan wrote, “Ok Meg, we can see you have a dog too, well done. Now what?” whereas another said, “MM needs help with her one-upmanship obsession.”

Previously, when Meghan Markle promoted her brand, As Ever, with a picture of her on a swing, many fans likened it to Princess Kate being pictured in a similar outdoor setting.

Wearing a puffed-sleeved yellow maxi dress, Meghan teased her brand launch with a picture of her on a swing with her hair flowing in the wind, simply captioning the image: “No more sleeps”.

The snap is reminiscent of a picture taken of Princess Kate in a garden she designed for the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019. Princess Kate can be seen on a rope swing smiling at the Chelsea Flower show, dressed in jeans, boots and a casual shirt.

At the time of Meghan’s posting, one fan wrote on X: “Can she get any more unoriginal? Congratulations, Meghan, you have your swing picture. You can check that off the list now. Copy Kate’s swing picture, check!”

The pictured nine-year-old dog, Mia, was rescued by the Sussexes in 2022 from an animal testing centre and was first seen publicly in the family’s Christmas card last December.

Camilla posted her own picture earlier in the day after an afternoon at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, where she serves as Patron. Camilla’s image was captioned: “It was a fantastic afternoon at @Battersea – we are so grateful for all that you do!”

“Whilst Moley was keeping cool at home, he wishes he could have been reunited with some of his old friends,” the Royal Family’s official Instagram added.

The seemingly coincidental social media posts come as details of apparent peace talks between Prince Harry and King Charles’s communications teams suggest an attempt to resolve their long-standing family dispute.
