While secret meetings have been taking place to repair Prince Harry’s relationship with his father King Charles, it appears he has a secret desire for a UK move for his children Archie and LilbetPrince Harry and LilibetPrince Harry has a secret wish for his children’s future(Image: meghan/Instagram)

Ex-royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be raising Archie and Lilibet in the sunny, celeb-filled enclave of Montecito, California but a return to the UK might still be in the cards for their kids, at least when it comes to school.

That’s according to Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles III, who says Harry is “quite keen” for his children to experience a taste of British education. Harrold told StudyDog that it’s “very likely and completely possible” that Archie and Lilibet could one day be enrolled in a British school or university.

“If they have their younger education in America, I’m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,” he explained.

“But then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes,” he added.

It’s no secret that education and how much access the public should have to royal children has been a tense topic for Harry and Meghan.

In her 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan said she couldn’t imagine doing the UK school run without it turning into a royal photo op.

“If Archie were in school in the UK, I’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures,” she told The Cut.

“Sorry. I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” she added.

Harry has echoed similar sentiments. In an interview with Good Morning America at the Invictus Games countdown event last year, he shared how grateful he is to raise his kids in California, where they have freedoms they “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to” enjoy in the UK.

Meghan recently revealed on The Jamie Kern Lima Show that Archie and Lilibet attend different schools, making her mornings feel like a marathon.

“It can be incredibly overwhelming,” she admitted. “Sometimes I just need a break.”

It comes amid reports that secret meetings between the aides of King Charles and Prince Harry have been held in London, potentially signaling a thawing in their relationship.

The confidential discussions took place at a private members’ club and are seen as a crucial “first step” towards what insiders believe could be a reconciliation process between the estranged Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family.
