Emmy Nominations 2025: Selena Gomez and More Snubs & Surprises | E! News

The 2025 Emmy nominations are here, but with the list of nominations comes the inevitable snubs and surprises. As announced on July 15th, Apple TV’s The Studio tied the record for the most nominations in a single year in the comedy category with 23, previously set by the Bear in 2024. and Severance led this year’s drama category with 27 total nominations. For outstanding comedy series, the nominees are The Studio, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, and What We Do in the Shadows. And in the outstanding drama series category, the nominees are Andor, The Pit, Severance, The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Diplomat, Paradise, and Slow Horses. As for The Snubs, despite their co-star Martin Short being nominated for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for Only Murders in the Building, both Steve Martin and Selena Gomez did not receive acting nominations. Additionally, Squid Game, which made history as the first non-English series to receive a best drama nomination in 2022, was completely shut out for its second season. And The Handmaid’s Tale, which concluded in May of 2025 after six seasons, did not receive any nominations this year, despite being nominated for 77 Emmys throughout its entire run and winning 15 awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. The 77th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, September 14th on the CBS television network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount Plus. This
