You know what’s up? The phrase bounce back after pregnancy. Oh my god. Kylie Kelsey is not gonna lie when it comes to her body image after having babies. The podcast host, who’s also mom to daughters Wyatt, Elliot, Bennett, and Finley with husband Jason Kelsey, is not a fan of discussing a woman’s body before, during, or after pregnancy. She aired some of her frustrations about certain phrases on the July 17th episode of her podcast, Not Going to Lie. What’s up? The phrase bounce back after pregnancy. Oh my god. Here’s the problem. Every single person I’ve seen grow a human being and pop them out have rebounded in their own time. She also notes that there’s some things that moms simply can’t bounce back from. So for Kylie, she preferred to keep her body out of the conversation entirely. Also, there are some things that we as women who have just grown humans cannot bounce back. I can’t bounce back my stretch marks. They’re with me forever. Do I like them? Let’s be honest. No. I liked when my tummy didn’t have a bunch of little ridges in it. But guess what? It does. Do I still look damn good? Yes. She also admits that the phrase pits women against each other with comparisons and sets unrealistic expectations. Cut it out. We do not need to compare ourselves, ladies. You don’t need to compare yourselves to the person you were before you had kids because news flash, she didn’t have kids. Okay? And you don’t have to compare yourself to those around you because there is beauty in the fact that we are unique from each other. [Music]
