Stars are remembering Azie Osborne. The Black Sabbath front man, born John Michael Osborne, passed away at the age of 76. His family confirmed on July 22nd. His death came 6 years after he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Among the first to pay tribute to the late rocker was actor Jason Mimoa, who said in an Instagram post alongside a pic of himself, the Prince of Darkness, and his wife Sharon, “Love you, Azie. So grateful. Rest in peace.” Black Sabbath itself also honored their lead singer on social media with the words Aussie forever. Soon after, Black Sabbath’s brothers in metal Metallica also paid tribute to the late rock star with a simple broken heart emoji alongside a throwback photo of Azie with the band. Another peer to pay tribute was Elton John, who called Azie a true legend. The 78-year-old wrote on Instagram, “He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. After his death, Azy’s family said in a statement to EN, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Aussie Osborne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. [Music]
