A Royal enthusiast pointed out that Princess Charlotte “has no poker face” after her candid reaction was caught during a pivotal moment in the Euros final between England and Spain.
The 10-year-old Royal was spotted at the match in Basel, Switzerland, with her father, Prince William on Sunday. The Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media account shared a snapshot of the duo before the game began, captioned: “Let’s go, Lionesses.”
Charlotte and William joined fans in a collective gasp as Spain’s Mariona Caldentey scored the first goal at the 25th minute, leaving English supporters in fanzones nationwide in stunned silence. Royal watchers on social media were quick to comment on Charlotte’s expressive reactions, with one noting, “I can say Charlotte and William have no poker faces.”

As the patron of the Football Association (FA), the Prince of Wales proudly clapped for the national anthem alongside Charlotte in the stands. In a spirited display of encouragement before the final, the Band of the Grenadier Guards played Three Lions at Buckingham Palace, and the Royal Family’s official social media account posted a message of good fortune, “Wishing the very best of luck to the @Lionesses in the Women’s Euro Final this evening.”
William shared an encouraging note on Saturday that declared, “Good luck to the Lionesses tomorrow. The nation is so proud you are through to the final, after some stunning comebacks! We are all cheering you on! W.”
Following England’s triumphant 2-1 victory over Italy in Tuesday night’s semi-final clash in Geneva, the King and Queen extended their “warmest congratulations” to the squad. Charles remarked, “Knowing the Lionesses’ fighting spirit, I suspect we are in for another thrilling encounter on Sunday.
“Your achievements continue to inspire countless girls and women across the nation, proving once again that with dedication and teamwork, anything is possible. Good luck, England. May you roar to victory once more. Charles R.”

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer declared, “Into the final and inspiring the nation. Let’s bring it home.” He praised the squad for having “changed the game – breaking barriers, making history and inspiring the next generation.” The PM added, “Tonight, the whole nation will be behind them. Come on England!”
Cricket star Joe Root sent the Lionesses his “very best of luck” through a digital message, noting: “It’s been great to watch you play throughout the tournament.”
Olympic 800m gold medalist Keely Hodgkinson proclaimed the team has “absolutely smashed it,” emphasizing that “everybody is so proud of you”. BBC Sport and ITV have clinched the broadcasting rights for the Women’s World Cup 2027, ensuring that UK fans can watch the tournament free-to-air.
England’s journey to the final has been nothing short of thrilling, with a nail-biting extra-time victory over Italy securing their place after a tense penalty shootout win against Sweden in the quarter-finals, where they nearly faced elimination in extra time.
The Lionesses are on a quest for vengeance against Spain, who narrowly defeated them 1-0 in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final. England’s manager Sarina Wiegman has declared that her team is “going to do everything we can to win it” and expressed her hope to steer clear of another “nerve-wracking” game.
