I think we can all agree that the Mom & Dad in that movie were the true villains. They split up and cut all ties with their children without a care in the world. Then the parents run into each other and the love is rekindled.
WHAT THE FUCK? How do you not care about your child and the impacts of your children not knowing each other?
Meredith Blake should have stolen that farm from the dad.

I recently rewatched Freaky Friday with my own daughter. I am a child of divorce, my daughter is not. I remember having to politely navigate around a Meredith Blake. It was oddly cathartic, as an adult to see a young girl feel all the feelings and act out in an over the top way to a flat villain. My sister and I just swallowed our feelings and navigated the chaos in our own way, mostly through avoidance and pretending we didnāt see what we saw. Both of us worked it out in therapy decades later. Reality is more nuanced thoughā¦. No step-mom is so singularly evil but some are mentally ill and emotionally manipulative.
I still donāt believe Meredith Blake deserves āJusticeā. Elaine Hendrix however is fantastic.
