Nicole Kidman is jumping on the Hollywood bandwagon and moving to Europe. It’s an entertainment industry trend that has celebrities including Eva Longoria, Ellen DeGeneres, and Rosie O’Donnell calling the European Union home.
It looks like Kidman is headed to Portugal, according to local news outlet, SIC Notícias, who noted that the 58-year-old actress has already applied for residency in the country. What many fans may not have realized is that she and husband Keith Urban have owned a home in Parque das Nações since 2023, but they might be ready to go ultra-exclusive with a new estate in the CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club luxury development.

According to Realtor.com, A-list stars, who are also property owners in that area, include Paris Hilton, George Clooney, and yes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Royal fans will remember that Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, lured the stateside duo to the area with a $4.7 million estate because Brooksbank is the marketing and sales manager for the lavish properties.

“We have no idea how many people linked to cinema, royalty, arts, design, and fashion visit us, precisely because they value discreet travel, which is something they find in Alentejo like nowhere else in Europe,” Jose Santos, head of the Alentejo Tourism Board, told the Daily Mail after Harry and Meghan visited Eugenie during a 2023 vacation.
While Kidman has already applied for residency, her husband has not — but there’s no need to worry, their marriage is solid.
A source told the New York Post, “Keith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the US, and it is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa. “He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule. While Nicole and Keith own a home in Portugal, their primary residence will continue to be in Nashville.”
Crisis averted! Still, the lure of Europe has become a big deal for many celebrities who are exiting due to the political strife in the U.S. DeGeneres confirmed during a conversation with broadcaster Richard Bacon at the Everyman Theatre on July 20, per the BBC, “We [she and wife Portia de Rossi] got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in’,” DeGeneres said of Donald Trump. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.’”
