James Gunn shares his thoughts on Trisha Paytas naming her son Aquaman: “I think that’s cool, I hope he does okay at school. I had a hard time with the last name Gunn like Tommy Gun, BB gun, raygun, I’m like, ‘Ok, we get it.'”

Hope her kid becomes a famous, marine biologist or an Olympic swimmer.
I can’t believe this interviewer asked him about this of all the things
This was my first thought as well
Paytas is messy AF, but she’s low-key a genius at keepin’ herself relevant.
This is such a perfectly diplomatic way to answer that question without sounding like it. Acknowledge that it’s silly, but in a self deprecating way so it’s not pointed or mean. Well done. and good luck Aquaman.
I’m just glad he started and ended this conversation not knowing who Trisha Paytas is
Not gonna lie Aquaman Moses sounds like the superhero we need right now
I know it says James Gunn but I was expecting Tim Gunn and was thinking “wow he looks so different” the whole time lol
god I hate that she keeps weaseling her way back into relevancy despite being one of the most problematic e-celebs out there. she’s a terrible person who plays into the ditzy memeable blonde act and people eat it up
My maternal surname has the Spanish words for thirst and anus in them, so I get it.
I just assume celebrities are lying so that we don’t know their kids’ actual names.
At least, that’s what I’m telling myself. 😭
If she don’t name the rest of her kids after the Justice League and biblical/Hebrew inspirations I’ll be disappointed. Here you go Trisha.
Superman Nephilim Paytas-Hacmon.
Wonderwoman Bethlehem Paytas-Hacmon.
Flash Cassiel Paytas-Hacmon.
Batman Exodus Paytas-Hacmon.
Cyborg Tsalach Paytas-Hacmon.
And lastly twins called Green Arrow Philia Paytas-Hacmon and Green Lantern Eros Paytas-Hacmon.
We leaving the hawks out because they are destined lovers so being siblings would just be weird.
I don’t know why so many people are pretending that her kid is going to public school
they’re multimillionaires in LA, not only is Aquaman likely not what he’d be called even if it is it would be among the least weird names in the class.
kids will get teased for their names even if it’s a “normal” name, that just happens regardless. Would it have been better if his name was Breighdynn?
just a nonstory that’s being blown up for no reason
The guy behind Super and Slither being seen as this respectable good exec guy remains amusing to me
everyone who has an even slightly unusual name hates it and swears they want to name their kids normal names. everyone with a common name hates it and swears they’re going to give their kids unique names. obviously this is a exaggeration and who knows who’s right, but I think everyone can agree aquaman is too far
(fwiw I’m in the unusual name club and I have always disliked the experience of having to spell my name out every time I met someone new but I know some people like their special names lol)
