What Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Told His Family Before Death | E! News

Phil Robertson’s family says the patriarch left a special message before his passing. The Duck Dynasty star died at the age of 79 May 25th after his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. In an interview with TV Insider published July 25th, Willie Robertson says, “Phil had such a strong faith. He told us before, do not cry at my funeral. I know where I’m going.” Willie says, “What a life he lived. We heard that from thousands of people, the people he impacted. Phil would have wanted us to do exactly what we’re doing, our show’s a reflection of our faith. And though Phil was off camera during filming, Corey Robertson is glad the world got to see one of his final moments with Willie. He says the timing was a little surreal. Our show came out the week Phil passed. It was really special to our family that we had that one little clip. We did film that one little thing where he gave Willie the thumbs up. It was really special for our family. It felt like, okay, this is his opportunity to pass the torch to us. [Music]
