      As a person very on the left, it’s frustrating to me how people on the left always fall for the ragebait. Assuming this wasn’t just a poorly phrased/thought out campaign by American Eagle(likely), all people have done is increase the visibility of American Eagle jeans.

      This is what happens when your fanbase are all simps whose hobby is to shitpost on the internet all day. For them it is just another excuse to push her and to post content to try and convince people how great she is. The issue with this kind of bland marketing is that the fanbase molds you to whatever they see in you, basically nitpicking subliminal messaging and gestures you make and elevating that to their standards. It is also why I dislike it so much when celebs basically act like influencers 24/7. People simply don’t take them serious as people anymore (nor do they take their acting seriously). As a result every right-wing shitposter on the internet thinks this is an amazing meme (see it as praising “their queen”, the one whose subliminal gestures and messages supports their world view and politics) to bring up over and over again with old memes and new ones. I even saw edits of the AE video where instead of saying “eyes up here” the text implies she says something racist. So, bravo Sydney. She will probably go on Insta again in tears how everyone is so unfair, but girl.. you can’t act dumb and make bank, it doesn’t work that way. You’re just greedy AF and don’t care, and now it’s blowing up because you bet on the wrong team. And to be fair, with her upcoming movie, I am pretty sure some of this was brought up by her own PR team, and I say this because she was okay with breaking up the relationship of her costar and labeling herself as a cheater and homewrecker to promote her movie (cause she and her fiancee were the ones banking the money for it).

      There’s plenty of young, hot, blonde white women I like. Margot Robbie, Madelyn Cline, Florence Pugh – just to name a few. That’s not the reason why we don’t like her. We don’t like her bc A) she is aligned with the rich, conservative right (hello, bezos wedding); B) relies on tried, overused tropes to hawk products and C) is overexposed and annoying.
