Why Bryan Kohberger Left Roommate Dylan Mortensen Alive | E! News

The mystery of the Idaho murders continues. How did roommates Dylan Mortonson and Bethany Funk miraculously survive? Convicted murderer Brian Coberger was sentenced to life in prison July 23rd for fatally stabbing University of Idaho students Kaye Gonzalez, Madison Mogan, Zanna Kernodal, and Ethan Chapen. And according to Moscow police officer Mitch Nunes in a report released July 23rd, Dylan peaked out of her bedroom and observed a male described as approximately 6 ft tall, slim build with a black ski mask leave the second floor patio area. Prosecutor Bill Thompson tells the Idaho Statesmen July 30th, “From what Dylan described, I have a hard time imagining that the killer did not see Dylan. as to why she was left unharmed. Bill says at that point, he’d been in the house probably longer than he planned and he had killed more people than he had planned. It wouldn’t surprise us that the killer was scared at that point and decided they had to leave, not knowing if law enforcement already had been called.
