It’s such a perfect example of the current democratic party rot to pop out only when you have a book deal coming out.

Cory Booker did it with his filibuster, which was a performative nothingburger.

Kamala has been silent for nearly eight months since her disastrous campaign while the country goes to shit, and now she is trying sell copies and drum up excitement for another run.

Embarrassing, and I hope everyone sees through it.

At this point I’m convinced that traditional publishing is a money laundering front for people in politics. Because honestly, I don’t even know anyone who reads a whole one of the books instead of just waiting for the screenshots of the good parts to show up on the internet.

a bit O/T but how long until we start seeing publishers using LLM AI instead of ghost writers for these cash grab books?

Just more evidence that neoliberals don’t actually believe in anything other than that they should wield power and influence. What they use the power for, that is subject to the newest junk poll with shakey methodology.

Complete and utter redux of Hillary Clinton prior to her run in 2016. Have to respect the sheer audacity of all of them immediately milking the shit out of it.

“Here’s a book about my losing strategy and all the people other than myself to blame for why I lost. PS I didn’t even write this myself. Gimme $30!” plz go awayyyyy

    8. I have never understood the appeal of political books. Who exactly buys those things? In any case, I think it’s a good thing that she’s stepping out. We have a lot of potential options Buttigieg, Newsom, AOC, Whitmer, Walz, Shapiro. They should all have the chance to present their vision. Many of them are doing so with tv, podcasts and books. She is no different. I say let’s have a robust field and let the best person win.

Unless the book is titled“I Told You So” , then this just shows you politicians just want money.

    10. I feel like this is a book you right in five years not less than a year after the event. That why all the books a bout Covid written in 2022 are bad. There wasn’t enough historical distance.

Why would anyone want to read a book about a campaign that you lost…?

Who reads these books? Like I guarantee you this book will be #1 on the bestseller list for a long time and I just don’t understand who gives a shit

I’m still really frustrated about how she handled the campaign money. They raised so much in such a short period of time and they completely fucked it all up

Nobody wants this. But let’s see if she can try to justify the DNC turning away Palestinians from the convention, saying “I’m speaking” when confronted with a genocide, and using Liz Cheney to excite Muslims to vote for her.

Didn’t they always used say that running for president sets you up for life, because you’ll be able to live on keynote speeches for the rest of your days?

I guess this is the 21st century version.

    16. Idk, I probably would have scrapped this whole book tour/release after Trump won the election, but what do I know?
