This is blown way out of proportion, from both the radical left and the right.

I’m glad she was outed as a Republican and I absolutely hear the dogwhistle in the ad. If her career suffers as a result of all of this then she’s reaping what she sowed.

And yet, I fail to see what doing what this person is doing does for anyone but make the people who hear the dogwhistle seem like irrational bullies in the public eye. “Stop the ad”, like what’s she going to do, she doesn’t own the company, she couldn’t stop it if she tried. And at this point what good would it even do. Everyone’s already seen it and the discourse has played out. Please just find a cause more deserving of your time to protest than this.

I can not say I feel bad in the slightest. She knew what she was doing.

She better enjoy being in big movies while it lasts before she ends up in Mel Gibson and Angel Studios hell

This is giving me bridal wonder woman prom, with a dash of the 80s workout just for fun.

For the record, not a fan.

ngl this is maybe the funniest way someone’s career could implode lol

still, I do think that American Eagle deserves more of the flack. Sydney is in her Snoop Dogg arc of accepting any and all endorsements, no matter how depraved but American Eagle is the one who dredged up this old campaign in a political climate ripe with white supremacy. It’s just so stupid and tone deaf of them. Controversy was probably in part the point, but they seem genuinely annoyed that they fucked around and are now finding out.

I mean, no love lost. Their clothes are shit anyway lol

    7. Don’t know why the public expected anything from her. Not to excuse her in any way cause miss thing, you’re an adult, but we need to stop giving celebrities any type of attention, especially when they are so ignorant

    8. Please do not do shit like this. Ignoring her is the way to go. Her movies flopping, her projects not going anywhere. That is what makes an impact. This shit is just counter productive.

She had a choice and still has not said a thing even after Trumps dumbass message. She is leaving it in the middle for a reason. Ignore her. Conservatives are not her target audience. They weren’t watching Euphoria, Handmaid’s tale and won’t be watching that boxer movie cause she isn’t playing pretty blonde.

      Ignore her.

On a side note, Ive liked some of her looks but she is too short for this and I say this as a shorter woman.

Maybe I’ve become conspiracy-brained but my first thought was that this is a plant

    10. I don’t know how her career can recover fromthis because her target audience in her movies/series are usually not the Maggot crowd…unless she goes full Mel Gibson, owns it and becomes an alt-right icon

Here’s the thing, honestly, if AE is not trying to be racist then they have a huge opportunity to use the same ad with a Latina actress, a Black actress, etc… surely there are other actresses/models who are attractive that we can all admire to wear their shitty dungarees.

This person was not prepared with a good heckle 😆 “stop the…ad…. That is being racist!” Sounds like an afterthought. Be pithier!
