Somewhere in the midst of this article is the truth:
“The warrants, however, have no power outside state lines and it’s unclear to what extent, if at all, Texas law enforcement may and could coordinate with their counterparts in the relevant states.
Later Monday, Abbott said he had asked the Texas Rangers to investigate the Democrats who left the state for potential law violations — including bribery for soliciting funds to support their effort.”
In other words, the warrants have no teeth and Abbott is plumbing around the depths of his ass for actual violations of the law to charge them with. I’m not a lawyer but my understanding is “I don’t like this person, find something illegal so we can charge them with a crime real quick” is not how criminal law works.
In other other words, this whole Pampers-filling episode is BS, as Rep. Jones says, but the media is reporting it as though it’s true in the headlines, and people on social media are taking and running with it. Not good.

get his ass!!!
What comes after the number 7?
Unfortunately the news media in the US has a very bad practice of putting lies and bullshit in headlines, which is the only thing that many people read. I’m looking at a headline at this very moment that says “Texas governor orders police to find and arrest Democrats who fled over redistricting” (link: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/showdown-texas-abbott-threatens-democrats-fled-protest-redistricting/story?id=124343408)
