2025 MTV VMA Nominations: Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar Lead | E! News
The 2025 MTV Video Music Award nominations are finally here. The award show, which will air live on September 7th from the UBS Arena in New York, promises to be as iconic as ever with Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar leading the nominations. Mother Monster Lady Gaga receives the most nominations this year, earning a best album nod for her recent release Mayhem, as well as being recognized in the video of the year category for Die with a Smile alongside collaborator Bruno Mars. The 18time VMA winner also picks up Noms for artist of the year and best choreography for Abracadabra. This marks the third time that Lady Gaga has amassed the most nominations, previously achieving the feat in 2010 and 2020. Following Lady Gaga are Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10 nominations. Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter are next with eight each, followed by Ariana Grande and The Weekend with seven. Billy Isish with six and Charlie XX with five. Bad Bunny, Doi, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus, and Tate McCrae all received four nominations each. The big nominees for artist of the year are Bad Bunny, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, and The Weekend. And the VMAs could see a record-breaking moment if Beyonce or Taylor Swift take home the award for artist of the year as the duo are currently tied as the most awarded artists in BMA history with 30 wins each.
Lady Gaga led the charge for most 2025 MTV VMA nominations, with the awards show set to take place Sept. 7 on CBS. Other artists who picked up nominations include Rosé, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish’s, Sabrina Carpenter and The Weeknd.
