Taylor Swift’s Directorial Debut: Truth Behind Screenwriter Rumors | E! News
Taylor Swift is still set to make her directorial debut of a feature film in the near future. 3 years after it was announced the Grammy winner would be making her feature film directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures on a feature film she wrote. Rumors have begun swirling that screenwriter Alice Burch has been brought onto the project. A source close to production tells EN however that the rumors are not true and there is still only one screenwriter on the project, Taylor herself. Otherwise, details of the project have remained scarce since the 2022 announcement. At the time, Searchlight presidents David Greenbomb and Matthew Greenfield share their excitement over the collaboration, saying in a press release, “Taylor is a once- ina generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey. While the project marks Taylor’s feature film directorial debut, she is no stranger to working on movies and directing projects. In addition to roles in Valentine’s Day and The Giver, the 35-year-old has starred in most of her music videos and has even directed a few over the years, including 2021’s All Too Well, the short film starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien.
