      we need to bring back photoshoots like this. no more flat headshots that look like they’ve been taken in parking lots or the same generic dead fish stare at the camera or whatever annie liebovitz keeps being allowed to do – put celebrities in full camp theatre costume and make them do a silly pose for a laugh! bring back themes and colour and ornate backgrounds and doing it just because it would be fun!!!

      This really emphasizes just how much of a pop culture juggernaut the VMA’s used to be. Ozzy Osbourne, Britney Spears, and David Bowie (not to mention all the other icons) all in a promo photo shoot for MTV? That would be unheard of now! Times sure have changed.
