Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has had a rough go of it the past couple of years, between all the trademark paper debacles and her Netflix deal running out. However, her brand As If has been thriving nonetheless, despite what Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s pals may think.
Now, we know not everyone is a fan of Meghan’s Netflix show, but apparently, William and Kate’s friends have a rather harsh nickname for the show.
An inside royal source told DailyMail that the Wales’ pals roasted the lifestyle company being rebranded to As Ever in Feb 2025, giving it the nickname of “As If.”

It’s reported that they mean “as if,” as in “as if it will take off.” One even reportedly said, “It’s caused quite a bit of laughter within the group. WhatsApp messages have been going back and forth. It’s all very budget and rushed. Embarrassing, really.”
Um, yikes.

Now, it’s unclear whether William and Kate have joined in on that nickname, but it’s not the first time we’ve heard of royal pals (or royal staff) giving Meghan an unflattering nickname.
In fact, the royal staff allegedly called her “Duchess Difficult.” (They claimed she sends multiple emails and texts with her “incessant stream of ideas” as early as 5 a.m. and that her style of management is something “veteran royal aides just aren’t used to.” A source even claimed that “the most difficult job in the royal family is to work with Meghan’s ambitions and make them realizable.”)
