Idk and idc abt box office capitalism but this site is super dubious with a history of anti-sjw nonsense.

    2. I thought the new Fantastic Four movie did well in theaters? I suppose it’s thanks to the absurd amount of money Disney puts into marketing.

Good let this be the end. Bring back original screen plays with no comic or book origin

Editing to add that I’m talking about TO MOVIE THEATRES. Right now most original screenplays do not get played in the theatres. They go right to streaming in favor of these adaptations getting played in the theatre

    4. I thought thunderbolts was a fantastic story about a woman struggling with her mental health and a lack of purpose and finding a sense of belonging

I loved fantastic four, I grew up watching the animated series. I’ve always thought there should be more mothers who are superheroes. It sometimes feels like it’s more common for men superheroes to be fathers than women being parents and superheroes

I guess my point is, let the films stand on their own, these movies are leagues better than the last few that came out. Their reputation is in a bit of a slump, but if they make good movies again, it won’t stay that way

    5. Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts are sadly paying the price for the damage done by Love and Thunder, Multiverse of Madness, Quantumania and Eternals, not to mention numerous terrible, uninspired TV shows.

Feels like most people can’t afford to go to the movies right now. And why would I go when people behave miserably in the theaters? It’s cheaper and more enjoyable to watch a movie at home.

Seriously though I liked Marvel well enough at one point but couldn’t tell you a single one that’s come out this year. It’s too much, and most of it is formulaic and boring to the point where talking about how formulaic and boring it is feels formulaic and boring.

      Make it stop.

I do think the bubble is bursting for the MCU. I think it’s just been too much content and too much of it being poor.

I suspect the Avengers double header will do well but won’t get anywhere near the infinity war box offices.

I’m not sure where you go from here. Maybe put Marvel films on ice for 5 years? When you put Marvel back in cinemas do you shift away from the current formula (wisecracking heroes, over reliance on green screen) to something more serious? There are so many great X-Men stories and they would probably work better in a more serious film.

Gonna need a more valid source on this one. Both Superman and F4 had lower budgets because of obvious concerns. F4 will still break even, it will just be a very slow crawl because the second week drop was horrendous.

      They have a budgeting issue.

Thunderbolts being the most egregious since it barely even has any superpowers in it.

    11. Good, finally the wave of shit has broken and we dont have to get 20 Marvel slop movies a year
