Pete Buttigieg’s terrible answer when asked about US-Israel relations and Gaza: “As Israel’s strongest ally and friend, you put your arm around your friend when there’s something like this going on and talk about what we’re prepared to do together.”

Just more mealy-mouthed bullshit that says nothing other than, ‘I’m gonna let Israel continue to starve children to death, because I approve of their genocide, and we’re pals.’ Disgusting.

    2. If my friend was committing genocide, I’d stop being friends with them. And stop helping them commit genocide. It’s really that simple.

    3. Reminder that Pete has a resource and mineral map of Afghanistan in his living room

I guess acting like an AI regurgitating AIPAC talking points eventually makes you look like AI too.

    5. It’s extremely complicated to try to justify what Israel is doing (genocide) as something that should happen and is good

They have the conclusion they want in their hearts where they want a Jewish supremacist state to exist (the basis of Zionism)

Because they have this conclusion, they have to retroactively justify it. This is why it’s so complicated to them because a simple, fair and balanced evaluation of the situation would lead you to believe that what Israel is doing is horrific, and the Palestinians are the victims in the seven decade long situation.

It would be like trying to come up with a justification for what Nazi Germany or imperial Japan did. That would be extremely complicated.

    6. This bozo only knows how to center Israel when asked about the oppression of Palestinians. Shameful.

I’m am so tired of democrats without a backbone. Pete is not needed if he’s copying the failing old guard.

I hope this will haunt him during the primaries (in case elections still exist by then)

    9. For all of his talent as a communicator, Buttigieg is a corporate dem down to his ‘soul’. It shouldn’t be surprising to anyone that he defaults to McKinsey speak on this issue.

One of his donors was Bill Ackmen – an investor in Tim Hortons. Bill is known to invest in the Israel stock exchange as well as was very involved in the shutting down of the student led protests and promoting a pro Israeli rhetoric.

Another few of his donors with support for itshell:

Seth Klarmen – funds birthright trips

Len Blavatnik – Donates to Tel Aviv university / supports Israeli research / culture (gentle reminder – they don’t any culture it’s stripped away from the Palestinians)

Wendy Schmidt (wife of ex google ceo) – funded academic programs and start ups

Reed Hastings (Netflix CEO) – under his lead Netflix expanded production in Itshell.

Also he didn’t receive any direct support from AIPAC, but from individuals associated with it.

From the billionaires alone he received close to $125 000 for his 2020 presidential campaign. That only made about 0.16% of his total raised which was close to 74 million. Now his campaign wasn’t massively funded by them but it doesn’t take away the fact that he is very close friends and has taken donations from some genocide enablers, and frankly refuses to call a spade, a spade which probably one can guess allude to further dealing and friendships. Because who in their right mind would agree that forced starvation by American tax dollars is Go0d?

    11. I dunno. If I had a friend who murdered even one person, I’m dropping your ass. I’m not answering the call to help you move the body. I sure as hell am not going to put my arm around you to talk to you about any of it

    12. Going forward we can’t keep electing liberals like this guy. They’re not really progressive at all, they’ll just maintain the status quo, wring hands when republicans commit horrors, then use democrat outrage to garner donations when they lose the following election

    13. Pete has always given me log cabin republican vibes and his recent views have definitely strengthened that vibe

    14. For some people, this answer is what they have been looking for.

It’s going to be so awful when he officially runs for POTUS. What is the sequel to the High Hopes dance?

My god dems suck. Time for new parties. And stop blaming how people voted, it’s the dem politicians. If they didn’t support such awful things they would have probably won!! Literally so much discourse before the election was people not voting because of dems support of Israel, among other things.

Everything about this podcast is just an encapsulation of libs still not getting it.

    17. Is anyone actually surprised at this coming from Buttigieg? He’s an establishment Dem through and through lol

I ask this genuinely – is this for real (not AI)? Is that really Pete Buttigieg speaking and answering the way that he is here? The guy who’s constantly revered on liberal social media for making sharp arguments and invited even by right-wing news panels for live debates? The same guy?

Now he’s arguing he can’t oppose his friend for having killed some 300,000 goddamn *civilians* – that includes *children* – in a genocide of an entire population?!

How does such a flip even happen?
