Cheryl Hines is setting the record straight. The Curb Your Enthusiasm alum shoots down rumors that her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been on the rocks since he left the Democratic party ahead of the 2024 election and joined President Donald Trump’s cabinet as the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services in January. Hines tells the Wall Street Journal in an interview published August 12th, “Bobby and I talk about everything, so that’s how we move through everything. We’re really good friends and we trust each other. That’s why the 59-year-old doesn’t feel the need to comment on speculation surrounding their relationship, including recent allegations that New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nudie was placed on leave in September 2024 after disclosing an alleged personal relationship with RFK Jr. She ultimately departed the publication and later admitted in a statement to People magazine that she developed an intimate relationship with a former reporting subject, though she never specified who it was and denied it ever became physical. As Hines explains in her interview, I don’t think there’s any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it. And as for how the actress, who tied the knot with RFK Jr. in 2014 feels about those who criticize her partner for joining the MAGA movement after dropping out of the 2024 presidential race as an independent. She doesn’t understand why it’s so upsetting to people. She shares, “At first, you’re thinking, wow, why are they so angry or disappointed? Some people can’t even I don’t know. They can’t even talk about it. It’s really rather strange, actually. Cheryl goes on to show support for the politicians controversial opposition of vaccines as well, sharing that she’s similarly skeptical of the scientific evidence that determined vaccines to be an effective preventative measure for illnesses.
