Nicholas Hoult reveals he writes down everything David Corenswet says
David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult joke about what it was like getting to know each other on the set of “Superman.”
After soaring through theaters, DC Studios’ Superman will soon land on TV screens with the digital release of the superhero’s namesake film nearing.
Written and directed by James Gunn, “Superman” introduces a new Man of Steel in David Corenswet but also launches a rebooted DC movie universe. The film has earned more than $579 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing solo “Superman” film in the U.S. and the “largest grossing superhero film year-to-date,” Warner Bros. Pictures said in a news release.
In the film, Clark Kent (Corenswet) is in his third year of being Superman and protecting Metropolis when he loses his first fight. The movie also begins after Superman ignites an international incident by stopping a war from breaking out between the fictional neighboring nations Boravia and Jarhanpur.
“When Superman is drawn into conflicts both abroad and at home, his actions to protect humankind are questioned, and his vulnerability allows tech billionaire and master deceiver Lex Luthor to leverage the opportunity to get Superman out of the way for good,” the film’s synopsis says.

USA TODAY’s Brian Truitt gave the film ★★★½ out of four, writing “the poppy, satisfying adventure succeeds on both fronts with the best Supes since Christopher Reeve.”
“The movie features pervasive positivity, one really cool canine and a bright comic book aesthetic,” Truitt wrote in his review. “And while this fresh superhero landscape is extremely busy and a little bit familiar, it also feels lived-in and electric.”
