The Gilded Age actress appeared on a panel event for the HBO series at ATX TV Festival on Monday, during which she said that she would love for The Gilded Age to continue, because there “is such an exploration to be done in terms of the corruption that goes on, the buying of government influence, which is happening now."

She then pivoted, adding, “And the grotesque displays of wealth? Sending women into a spaceship for what? So they can do their makeup? What the fuck?" “Don't get me started,” she said in the voice of her character, Agnes van Rhijn. “I'm going to sound like Agnes.”

Totally agree with her. Not only is it gluttonous, it is damaging our planet. It’s a vulgar display of wealth and privilege :/

    2. The Gilded Age is a nice fluffy, low stakes show. That being said, there are a lot of parallels between the time they are depicting and now. Actually the wealth inequality between the top and bottom is greater now than it was then.

Exactly. Why isn’t there more celebration of actual women astronauts ( you know like Sunita who spent how many months in space).
People who trained their whole lives and have degrees to be astronauts.

There’s an incredible amount of intelligence, physical health and training required to be an astronaut.

They are no where near the caliber of actual astronauts.

They’re just posers and have set back women in truth.

I’m picturing her saying this as Agnes
