Carrie Bradshaw is busy putting the finishing touches on her latest novel, a historical romance that took more than a few cues from her own life. In the end, Carrie settles into the idea of being without a love interest for once, a concept that she was determined not to view as a tragedy. In fact, as she concludes her novel, she makes the distinction that her protagonist and perhaps she herself was not alone. She was on her own. Series creator Michael Patrick King reflects on his decision to end Carrie Bradshaw’s journey with the season 3 series finale, telling the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on August 14th. I really do want people to understand that this was about telling these stories and bringing them to a place where there was a finish. And by finish, I mean an open-ended finish where each of the characters lives could continue and you could feel good about it for all of them. It’s what you want to write now that we’re done. We’re done writing, he adds. So, it’s really about the character, where they’ve been, and where you want to leave them. This is where we want it to leave her. [Music]

    1. It's a lazy finale. We go to these estories to find comfort and inspiration and life. It was a missed opportunity here once more.

      Just bring Samantha back, and you will see people turning in.

    2. It was was dull and pathetic. I kept forgetting it was on until I saw reviews in my notification. Worst finale in TV history. Uneventful. A spinoff of this crap is ridiculous. The two characters they added to be inclusive are even more dull.
