The daytime soap opera community is mourning the loss of an icon. Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on General Hospital, has died at the age of 79. His manager confirms to ABC7 Los Angeles that the actor passed away the morning of August 15th following a battle with lung cancer. This sad news comes less than a month after Tristan announced his cancer diagnosis. with his rep telling deadline in a July 17th statement. This is a challenging time for Tristan and his family as they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis. Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. This support means more to him now than ever. Tristan first made his debut on General Hospital in 1980, going on to star in more than 1,400 episodes of the longunning series. The Australianborn actor also appeared in nearly 200 episodes of The Young and the Restless and won a daytime Emmy for outstanding performance by a supporting actor in 2022 for the digital drama series Studio City. Tristan is survived by his wife Teresa Parkerson and their children, 33-year-old daughter Sarah Jane and 29year-old son Kale. [Music] [Music]
