The Minnesota Vikings defends the hiring of their 2 new male cheerleaders, Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn, from far-right backlash: “We support all of our cheerleaders and are proud of the role they play as ambassadors of the organization.”

I think this is really nice and a much needed sign of progress in a league that is depressingly conservative

Good that they’re defending them but the fact that they need to…

Cheerleading is a very hard sport. These losers criticizing this probably can’t even do a cartwheel.

    4. The fragile masculinity crowd are losing their minds and threatening to end their fandom for a team they’ve loved their entire lives. What a whiny bitch move to get worked up over something so little

    5. I’m kinda confused. Aren’t male cheerleaders a thing (like my knowledge is just from films but there always seem to be male cheerleaders doing throwing and catching and dancing in the school squads)? Why is this suddenly controversial? Are they being employed to do something other than “manly” throwing of small women into the air?

    6. Good for them. The 49ers had a male cheerleader at the game last week and he was one of the most fun to watch.

    7. I didn’t know their names yet and I feel like they both have names that fit them 100%. Blaize Shek sounds straight out of a Bring It On Movie

Cheerleading? You mean the male sport that was created by and for men in the late 1800s that women weren’t allowed to do until around the 1930s? Okay…

      Skol Vikings!

    9. George W. Bush was a cheerleader. I believe he even had a scholarship for the sport while attending Yale. Where’s the outrage over him?! Why is this outrage so selective?

Those protesting probably saw these guys in action and felt it move a bit and freaked out

    11. If this bothers you… why does it bother you? What could you possibly lose from it? I’m baffled.

    12. I really really really hope they don’t give into these “anti woke” protesters like so many brands/companies do. This is such a nothing problem. Just men insecure with their masculinity trying to blame it on a marginalized group.

So many big corporations have abandoned any inclusivity once the fragile republicans start complaining. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same after a while bc they make so much money off of those idiots.

I’m glad they showed the usernames of the awful commenters. They’ve said it with their whole chest, maybe their employers will disagree with their stances…

Sad that this is even something that needs defending.

Some people just can’t stand to see others happy and included.
