I used to really love Oprah… but then I got older and realized a lot of the stuff she did was ick. I get that it wasn’t necessarily uncommon at the time and that other interviewers did it.. Not that she has to be more empathetic just because she also had trauma in her own life, but it is the kind of thing that you hope would cause someone to be more aware and sensitive… but it did not.

My mother used to love Oprah. Everything Oprah said was like gospel. I always thought her brand was super cult like and if you watch clips of her show now you can see how problematic she was.
