I agree – not necessarily because he’s American, but because in my mind (and heart) that role belongs to either Dev Patel, Henry Golding, or Richard Madden.

i wish people fought as hard to get gay and trans actors to play gay and trans characters, as they do about brits to play bond.

The phrase “authentic Brit” just makes me giggle.
Personally, I dont understand. British and Australian actors have played American characters with American accents so why not vice versa? As long as the accent and acting is great, what is the issue?
